Sonic's Layer-1 Upgrade
Sonic's Layer-1 Upgrade

Open Clear Capital is thrilled to announce that OCC-USD, our T-Bill-backed stablecoin, will leverage Sonic’s cutting-edge Layer-1 blockchain, launched in December 2024 as an upgrade to Fantom’s Opera chain. With 10,000+ transactions per second, sub-second finality, and EVM compatibility, Sonic’s 1M+ wallet ecosystem (plus 2.5M+ from Fantom’s 1:1 FTM-to-S swap) is a powerhouse for our Q3 2025 mainnet launch.

To secure Sonic’s network and drive adoption, we’re operating 15 validator nodes by mid-2026, staking 7.5M S tokens ($3.75M at $0.50/S). These nodes earn 3.5–6% annual rewards, bolstering our treasury while supporting Sonic’s high-performance infrastructure. Our nodes also attract delegators, offering a $150,000–$200,000 airdrop to 10,000–12,500 wallets. Stakers holding 50,000 S or more receive $10 in OCC-USD, with a $5 bonus for 90-day DeFi usage (e.g., Shadow Exchange), fostering long-term engagement.

Transparency is core to OCC-USD. Our Q2 2025 static webpage and Q4 2025 Chainlink/Pyth dashboard will display real-time mint/burn data and T-Bill reserves held by Etana Custody or other qualified Tier 1 custodians. Join our airdrop on X (@openclearcap), Cardano Forum, or Sonic Discord to shape Web3 finance.
